I live in Rochester NY with my wife, daughter, and son. I grew up RVing with a very large extended family. I have a lot of fond memory from those years. My family camped in a few different Coleman popups throughout my childhood. After moving away from home for college I continued to tent camp with friends throughout my twenties. After getting married, my wife and I revamped a 2000 Coleman Bayside Elite popup. We eventually sold the Bayside when my parents upgraded to a fithwheel and sold us the 1999 Coleman Utah popup they had owned since new.

In 2019 we were on a serious search for a new “hardside” camper for our family of four. We went to the Hershey RV show in 2019 and my wife really loved the floor plan of the Forest River Salem 26DBUD. I also liked the floor plan and the specs and pricing were right. We were able to make a similar deal price wise with a local dealership and took delivery in early 2020. COVID-19 hit shortly after and we decided to make big trip south in the winter of 2020/2021. The goal was to work from the road while stopping down in the Florida Keys and then spending a month at the same RV resort as my parents in Fort Myers. Daycare was not a option at home so being close to Nana and Papa was a big draw. The trip went great and we are now planning a long trip to the south west. In preparation and due to the fact that I find these projects fun I will be installing solar on the RV.

I will post mostly about the solar installation and other modifications made to the RV.
