The cheap base model vent fans they put in these RVs are awful. It has a small little loud fan that does not move much air. There are options like the Fan-Tastic vent which moves air and is quiet but it requires removal of the whole vent assembly from the roof and run $150-$200. The Heng’s Vortex II was a good compromise. It installs easily, moves much more air, is quieter but not as quiet or nice as a Fan-Tastic, plus it was about $60. There is a nice write up on The Small Trailer Enthusiast.

I also added a MaxAir vent cover so we could use the vent in the rain and protect the fragile vent lid. I recommend some sort of cover for all of your vents.

2023 Update: In search of better airflow and quieter operation, I swapped for a MaxxAir 7000k. It has a built in rain cover and moves significantly more air much more quietly. It does cost a good bit more then the Hang’s Vortex, which is still a great upgrade from the junky little fan that was originally on the RV.
